Spotted! Seamus

Angkat Bola. Inspired by the McQueen collection, and its title “angkat bola” literally means “holding ball”, a way of saying kissing ass. The designer was inspired by this incident at work where a lot of people were kissing ass to climb further, and thought that if he were to kiss ass, he’d do it with grace and sophistication, like a McQueen woman.

The Haze. Inspired by the 2013 haze in Singapore, juxtaposed with images from Chanel’s Cruise collection which was showcased in Singapore that same year, together with our iconic Merlion.

Dior Feline. Inspired by the collection Raf Simons did for Dior F/W 13 – modern, sleek and sophisticated. The designer couldn’t help but to have his feline model pose in this dress. Chic.

Nightingale IV. Part of a 5-part illustration campaign for Jonathan Liang, a Paris-based Malaysian designer’s S/S13 collection

Front Row. A dreamy self-portrait of the designer sitting front row between Anna Wintour and his favourite Red Head, Grace Coddington watching one of the fashion shows in Paris. This reflects his dreams and aspirations as a fashion designer.

Seamus is a Singapore-based graphic designer hailing from Malaysia who is equally adept at fashioning menswear as he is at creating Fashion Feline illustrations decked out in designer pieces.

Seamus about his work: “I execute my illustrations in vector to re-define perceptions people have of vector illustrations as being flat, and to introduce fashion in a light-hearted and quirky manner. My works are characterised by a high level of attention on detail that captures every aspect of the actual garden as seen on the runway. Some of my more personal works, like Angkat Bola*, also contain a potent mix of humour and dry social commentary, which I glean from daily life in my job as a menswear designer.”
