AAF New Editions Exhibition: Dzaki Safaruan

Our AAF New Editions special ends with Dzaki Safaruan. Dzaki has always been interested in art-making, but only seriously began pursuing it in secondary school. His inspiration comes mostly from fantasy art, comic books and card game illustrations.

Currently pursuing his Diploma in Fine Art: Printmaking at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Dzaki has already participated in group exhibitions at various venues, including The Substation, Objectifs gallery and Sculpture Square. He is also a recipient of the Ngee Ann Kongsi Merit Award and the Leadership in Art Practice Award.

About his work: “The human mind is a multiplicity of interpretations – various ideals and values that stem from religion, culture and mass media. In our everyday lives we are judged constantly and with scrutiny, of our values and actions. How do we decide what principles govern us, in the confusing environment that is the human psyche? My work addresses these issues in which life is the amalgamation of problems, solutions and the in-between.”

For a closer look at Dzaki’s work, visit the AAF New Editions Exhibition opening tomorrow at the F1 Pits Building in Marina South. Click here for more details.
