Spotted! Goh Ling Ling

Born into the business of fashion, Goh Ling Ling’s family has been producing luxurious garments for key markets in United States, Asia, Europe and United Arabs for 30 years.

With a strong desire to explore her own design extremes, Ling completed a diploma in graphic design at LASALLE and went on to graduate at Central St. Martin School of Design in London. “It was in London that I experienced the myriad and diverse mix of styles, which I distilled into my own personally eclectic one. With a strong affinity towards the organic form, I prefer working out illustrative designs without the computer to achieve a natural and spontaneous look to my pieces. This becomes evident in the free-flowing gathered leather, macramé-style platted straps and beaded tassels used in my latest collection.”

Ling Wu – her own debut label for seriously functional but beautiful bags started off back in 1999 at London Fashion Week. Orders were quickly secured for racks in the boutique shops of the United States, Australia, France as well as Japan. She was invited again in 2001 to show a Fall/Winter collection that garnered her even more sales. Ling’s career has recently taken her full-circle with her now lecturing in the fashion department at LASALLE. “I feel strongly about sharing my talent and knowledge, and at the same time helping to nurture a flourishing fashion design industry in Singapore.”

In line with the Ling’s fanatical attention to sensory-driven details, the latest range of sensual shoulder serpents are crazily puppy soft to the stroke and sweetly sexed up to the eye. The luxury lies in the finer points with exquisite stitching, buttery soft skins and quirky design accents. “All bags are crafted in a deliberately small workshop and limited in numbers. For now, the current line of leather bags comes in limited pieces of purse and wallets in juicy shades of sand, moss, grape, caviar and metallic’s. Only selected clutch and bag pieces are available-while stocks last.”

Ling Wu pieces are stocked at The Black Market, A Curious Teepee and Quintessential.
