Fast & Fresh

The Fast & Fresh festival is a youth-oriented version of Short & Sweet, Australia’s premier ten minute play competition. It will be launched in Singapore by Word Forward Limited. Featuring plays written, directed, produced and enacted by teenagers (18 and under), Fast & Fresh is a competition that showcases and gives the best young talents the exposure and guidance necessary to stage quality productions, while connecting them to the theatre scene. 23 May, 7-9pm, Play Den @ The Arts House.

Black Market Fresh

Roving around the same flea circuit month after month? Seasoned jaded bargain hunter a bit sick of it all? A heavy fresh crop of 100% virgin vendors will be shyly putting up their warez on their first social outing. Pluck up flowers, salads, vegetables, fruits, get jammed and go nuts at this Sunday Market with Gran. Say your minutes worth on the Black Graffiti Board and swig in rare Black Lychee Martinis. Also featuring: Tagger, Wooonderland, My Killer Heels, The Lawn, Bianca, Dulcetfig, M-lab, Antipodean, Shirtz, 60 Nicholson, WalkinWardrobe, My Killer Heels. On the decks: Tracy De Rozario, Debbie Chia, Shawn Livewire, Pixi[e]dub, Leslie James and Joe Ng. 20 April, 10am-5pm at House.

Tiger Translate AKA Andy Yang ‘LIVE’

Tiger Translate Watch Tiger Asian Kinetic Artist (AKA) Andy Yang & fellow designers Mindflyer and Drewscape make their mark on the walls of bar/gallery Night & Day in this unique ‘LIVE’ art demonstration. On the same night, create your very own masterpiece at the Creative Corner where 10 best designs will be put on display. An exclusive Tiger Translate piece will also be given away that evening, so don’t miss out! OZMOSIS: Directions in Australian Design

This exhibition addresses the position of design as cultural artifact by examining the work of a group of Singaporean designers who have ventured into a broad range of design domains. All have completed or are about to complete the Master of Design degree from College of Fine Arts (COFA) in Sydney, and their design outcomes are very much grounded in the culture in which they operate. 2 Dec – 12 Dec at The National Library, 100 Victoria Street.
