ease by Evelyn Chong

The Olivebacked Sunbird and the lack of comfort in the workspace inspired Evelyn Chong‘s Final Year Project. Evelyn is a soon-to-be Visual Communication graduate from Nanyang Technological University School of Art, Design & Media (ADM). With an interest in graphic design and craft, her works are often a blend of both.

“ease is a product range that is both decorative and functional, designed to enhance our comfort in contemporary workspaces. Inspired by the Olivebacked Sunbird, a bird native to Singapore that adapts well to urban landscapes, ease aims to help users feel comfortable and adapt well to their workspace. Made using a combination of plywood and bamboo, the product range is designed to incorporate the innate beauty and tactile quality of nature in a contemporary working environment. The products are also designed to give a sense of movement from its form and rhythmic patterns created by the layers of plywood.”

Evelyn’s project will be showcased at the ADM Show 2016 which runs from 6 May through 15 May. Visit www.admgradshow.com for more information or follow their process on Facebook or Instagram.
