W_nder by Rachael Lum

Year 3 Nanyang Polytechnic Motion Graphics and Broadcast Design student Rachael Lum found inspiration in Claude Monet’s impressionist paintings to create her W_nder photography series.

W_nder explores perspective, creating an almost otherworldly feel. When I was shooting this series, I was in what felt like a single arbitrary moment of peace. In solitude, yet surrounded by beautiful details of my surroundings. Hence the way every shot was created to let people be free from the boundaries of this world, to escape into a land they could never imagine. To allow their mind to wander, to wonder. I also turned it into a handmade photography book that will be displayed at our graduation show, Fusion 2016.”

FUSION 2016 will be held from 31 March to 2 April at Nanyang Polytechnic.
