(from the press release)
In appreciation of and thanksgiving to Mother Nature, Mad Nest brings together six florists and nine emerging photographers for an intimate showcase of the things we learn and receive from nature, in the spirit of giving back.
Six local florists, all small or home businesses, created exclusive flower pieces for the exhibition, which were then styled and photographed by nine young and upcoming photographers. Live bouquets are used in the exhibition, and their slow but eventual decay is a stark reminder of the fragility of nature. All the artists are given the opportunity to share about how nature impacts them, and their stories are shared within the exhibition.
The participating photographers are Jasper Tan (@vilecorpses), Clifford Loh (@cliffordlohh), Jolene Koh (@jolenekcw), Hosanna Swee (@hforhozzie), Melody Tan (@meowiie), Alison Lim (@allyally), Dionna Lee (@tofurier), Sean Ashley (@pruue), Lesley Chee (@lesleyc_).
In addition, a plant drive will run concurrently with the exhibition. Supported by G.R.E.E.N.S., a variety of microgreens will be up for adoption for a donation to Nature Society (Singapore) (NSS). Visitors to Mad Nest will be allowed to decide on how much they would like to pay per jar in support of this green cause.
What She Gave To Me opens today and runs through 31st January 2015.
