Exhib! 2four8

(from the press release)

The first instalment of a 3-series photography exhibition, 2four8, aims to steer away stereotypes (read: public nuisance) of our local skateboarders/roller-bladers/BMX riders. Instead, this exhibition is here to celebrate the unique community that develops around these extreme sports.

To deliver the intended message across to the public, the team at Gallery @ CRC Spaces decided that it is best expressed through the lenses of our featured artists who do not only document these moments, but are also heavily involved with the sports and community.

About the Artists

Fiz (image 1) has been experimenting with cameras for the past 8 years, alongside with his passion for skateboarding. He is the founder of local skateboarding brand, Terrorkota, but is also currently experimenting with videography with his new production, Scalene Studios.

SSYSTM aka Heider Ismail  (image 2) a Communication Design student from LASALLE College of the Arts, is an avid Bicycle Motocross (BMX) photographer. As BMX became part of his life when he turned 17, a camera became a medium to promote his love for this sport. He constantly dabbles into the realm of art while not being behind the camera.

An inline skater for the past 17 years, Raihan Muhaimin (image 3) spends his present time as the Creative Director and Founder of his wedding photography and videography company, OnceUponImages. He found his passion for photography and videography through inline skating back in 2008 for a locally run competition and has since then, been behind the lens throughout many moments in life.

2four8 will take place from March 27 through April 27 at Gallery @ CRC Spaces at Level 2 of Camera Rental Centre. Featuring a total of 18 artworks, this exhibition is open to the public for free from 11am to 6pm on weekdays and 12am to 3pm on Saturday. Admission is free.
