We’re mighty impressed with Mary Bernadette Lee, an artist, illustrator, print and pattern maker, now into her final year at Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media.
“My works comprehend the relationships between self, architectural space and art through a process of self-discovery and phenomenological interrogation into the meaning of spaces. It highlights the cyclical nature of reconstructing the experience of an interior world in relation to an exterior in which we are not mere spectators but to which, we inseparably belong through the unified integration of the senses, body and architecture.”
“Inspired by nature and the fantastical, my works also reveal a genuine exploration of the human psychological and emotive condition. I participate in the spaces between togetherness and spaciousness, and the latent significance in syntax, always with the intention to articulate the intangible and visualize the concealed.”
