Spotted! Sumaya Mahadevan

“Choosing four works was incredibly difficult for me because I practice my craft in a variation of styles. Personally I’ve always felt the urge to experiment with different aesthetics to suit the nature of various briefs/projects. I’m inclined to assert that I don’t think illustrators have to be defined by their aesthetic style alone but by their ideas and messages behind the work. Conversations between the people who create and consume content always strike me as something far more interesting than a “pretty picture”. I’d definitely define my work as something that’s inviting, cheeky and if I’m lucky thought-provoking.” – Sumaya Mahadevan.

Sumaya is a recent Design Communication (Image Communication) graduate from LASALLE, College of the Arts.
