Spotted! Allysa Sing

Allysa Sing is a mixed media artist whose projects often explore the boundaries of beauty and society, whilst trying to make sense of the inherent attractiveness of nature. She recently graduated from the School of Art, Design and Media at the Nanyang Technological University and now holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Filmmaking.

“I have an interest in production design in filmmaking, which has led to art and design projects that allow me to work with different mediums. My short film – Crane Wife  – has won some local and international awards, and has been exhibited in the Seoul Museum of History in South Korea. I have also worked on a wearable fashion piece (last image) that incorporates technology; this work was recently exhibited at the ArtScience Museum of Singapore. Passings (third image) is my newest video art piece that explores the impermanence of digital data.”

Allysa was recently awarded the Noise Singapore Award in Art & Design for Noise Singapore 2013. Check out her works at the Noise Singapore 2013 Festival Showcase which runs until 14 August at B4 ION Station (Event Hall), ION Orchard.
