Spotted! Weiloong Wong

Weiloong Wong is a Year 4 Visual Communications student at the NTU School of Art, Design & Media, who has got editorial illustration nailed. His images are immediately engaging, and they also look magnificent.

“My work is heavily informed by literary content, and so I am concerned with using mythological and fantastical imagery as metaphors to convey real-life concepts. Consequently, I have developed a deep fondness for Editorial Illustration as a consolidation of my interests. While I believe that Illustration is a means to solve visual problems, I constantly seek to achieve a distinct and unique approach in image-making, whether in concept, process or technique, and I find pleasure in understanding the systems and structures of depicting figures, objects & space. While a chronic dissatisfaction with what I produce fuels my creative development, I hope that a deeper introspection into areas like my cultural heritage and personal experiences will strengthen my visual identity.”
