Spotted! Amirul Afifi

Syndrome, is an experimental animation based on my thoughts and emotions. It depicts my state of mind, finding beauty in these unusual and peculiar shapes which are mostly inspired by human organs and sea creatures. The visuals and creatures are very spontaneously and loosely created letting the narrative unfold on its own.”

Born and raised in Singapore, Amirul Afifi is a Motion Designer who recently graduated from the Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art Design Media. Interning at COLORTV and CRITICA, taught him how the industry works and what is expected of a motion designer.

“I love things which are weird and visually captivating. I enjoy making abstract visuals, both geometric and organic, especially audio-driven pieces. I also hope to make a full animation for a music video or for a live music performances in the near future.”
