Exhib! Machine Mouth by Clogtwo

Clogtwo fans rejoice! The man has just released Machine Mouth: The Book & Art of Clogtwo, a 370 page stonker of a book with no short supply of his character art. The book as described by the artist himself, is said to “mimic the exploration of the mechanical system within experiences based on Singapore’s current social-‐economic status, showcasing richly disturbed and suppressed thoughts that manifest into spectacular visual artistry mayhem.” Limited to only 300 copies in the world, Machine Mouth will also feature an exclusive toy and art print.

The launch of the publication will coincide with Machine Mouth, Clogtwo’s first solo exhibition curated and presented exclusively by Mighty Jaxx. Some works on display will include a new series of artworks entitled “Machine Mouth”, the entire collection of Hell Lotus, new sculptural works and many more original ink drawings.

Prepare to be amazed we say!

(from the press release)

Often known as one of Singapore’s most intriguing urban street artists, Clogtwo is known to base his characters off local social issues, drawing from a wide range of topics to bring forth fictitious, thought-provoking characters. On top of spray-painting the walls of notable clients, Clogtwo brings together a mish mash of mythical creatures that exude a quiet confidence, forming the basis for a storyboard of interlinked archetypes.

Machine Mouth, Clogtwo’s solo exhibition, is a showcase organized by Mighty Jaxx and will be presented at PHUNK. Held during the first weekend of May 2013, it will house over 100 original artworks by Clogtwo himself. Mighty Jaxx will work with Clogtwo to curate a showcase that spans the entirety of his career thus far - allowing a wider community to not only view his extensive works but to also get the chance to own it.

3 May (Opening night), 7 pm till late  at PHUNK Studio, 188-8 Tanjong Katong Road.  The show runs till 5 May.
