Having graduated with a BAFA(Hons) in Fine Arts from LASALLE, College of the Arts, Bridget Tay‘s work manifests itself in gestural forms, conceived through spontaneous mark making and the process of layering.
With an interest in using the medium as a message, she uses the physicality of paint to explore the possibilities of painting. This is further incorporated in the platform of abstraction, where the idea of the configuration of spaces and planes in painting is especially evident.
“My methodology circles around the physical quality of paint and the act of painting as a form of communication. With the combination of omission of brushwork and structural planes in recent pieces, my work presents itself as twisting inter-dimensions set in the reality of painting.”
