Spotted! Teresa Lim

Whilst having a nose through Facebook profiles, one girl’s work made me stop and stare. Teresa Lim portrays the trenchant cool of women pondering over chewy life matters with a nice mix of colors, embroidered backgrounds and polka dots.

“My illustrations are mainly inspired by the changing roles of women in contemporary society. I am also constantly drawn to my subconscious thoughts and find it almost a compulsion to illustrate them. I enjoy creating colorful quirky prints and have a strange obsession for polka dots. As a Textile student, I have developed a great passion for embroidery, and have a new-found joy in applying embroidered textiles into my illustrations.”

Teresa is a graduate of LASALLE, College of the Arts, has worked as an illustrator for the past two years, created fashion prints for a UK-based fashion company and even worked alongside fashion textiles designer Mirjam Rouden. She is now pursuing a degree in Fashion Design and Textiles.
