ROOTS is an exhibition conceptualized and organized by a group of 7 students from the Arts Management undergraduate programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, as part of their graduation showcase: i-AM 2012 Festival. ROOTS is a contemporary visual arts exhibition that explores the relevance of cultural heritage in relation to the rootedness of an individual to his/her homeland. Taking place from 2nd – 8th March at Old School, ROOTS will feature a diverse selection of works by a group of 5 contemporary visual artists who seek to highlight the rising concerns over the painful erosion of cultural heritage, a jarring result of a fledging nation’s rapid progression into the league of the First World. Featuring: Dr Kay Kok Chung Oi, Fendy Ibrahim, Gerson Gilrandy, Justin Lee and Kai Chong. 2-8 March at The Gallery, Old School @ Mount Sophia, 11B Mount Sophia. Programme Highlight: Live ‘Art’ Performance by one of our participating artists: Gerson Gilrandy.
