One More For the Road

Wake Me Up Music, Singapore’s premium indie record label, is calling it quits after more than a decade. And it is going out with a bang – and a final show aptly called One More for the Road.

The two‐day event at Home Club marks Wake Me Up Music’s key contribution and influence to Singapore’s budding indie music scene. It will also be a gesture of gratitude to everyone who has been involved with the label.

Day 1 (10 December) features today’s hot indie acts – Kate of Kale, Caracal, A Vacant Affair and The Marilyns. Day 2 (11 December) sees the highly anticipated one‐time reunion of influential underground bands from the past ‐‐ Surreal, Vertical Rush, Marchtwelve, My Squared Circle, Sky In Euphoria and Pension State.

Wake Me Up Music is the creator and producer of Singapore’s biggest indie and alternative music festival, Baybeats (2002 ‐ 2007). It represents some of the Lion City’s best‐known bands such as Plainsunset, The Fire Fight, and A Vacant Affair.

The directors of WMUM have decided to focus their attention on other personal commitments and also feel that a younger generation be leading the pack in promoting local indie music.

10 December,  8‐10pm and 11 December,  5‐10pm at Home Club, 20 Upper Circular Road. Charge ‐ $10 for a 2‐Day Pass.
