Spotted! Cheng Siew Ming

The PLANTIMO is a project by Cheng Siew Ming, graduate student from the NUS Division of Industrial Design. She explains to us that the design serves as a timer clock which counts down to the end of a work day.

“Nature in sight can induce happiness and relaxation. Ticking off silently, the plant will rise slowly, seemingly growing to life, and finally a bud opens slightly to reveal the hidden flower. This gesture mimics the mood of workers, blossoming after a hard day of work, revealing the fruit of one’s labour.”

PLANTIMO finished second runner-up in the 2009 Gifts & Premium for the Modern & Happy Office Design competition.

Time to go home!
