Blueprint 2011 Paper Installation

This amazing  installation was conceptualised and created by Trine Design Associates for Blueprint 2011. Art Director Victor Lim told me that the visual backdrop was made from a forest of paper sculptures. Each paper unit is diecut with 168 blades and hand-formed into organic shapes before being suspended on a hanging platform. “We began experimenting with various materials and eventually hit on the versatility of a single sheet of paper in taking on myriad shapes and forms,” Victor explains. “By fusing paper sculptures with fashion, we could then create an unusual and visually stunning backdrop to offset the model and her clothes.”

You can catch the installation at Blueprint Emporium on 21 and 22 May, Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre Level 1 Hall B. Admission is free.
