The Snakeweed Sessions

Snakeweed Sessions is a series of interview cum live acoustic sessions featuring today’s most exciting artists, filmed at the the intimate setting of Snakeweed Studios. The Sessions are driven by the belief that local music has something to offer the world—that our strange mix of traditional Asian heritage, global influences and frustrating diaspora has resulted in some extremely unique music bubbling to the surface.

Artists will perform a live acoustic set of two songs, coupled with an interview segment with one of Singapore’s top music bloggers. The first installment of the Snakeweed Sessions highlights four artists. It features previously unrecorded material by Rachael Yamagata and an intimate performance by singer-songwriter Conor J. O’Brien, otherwise known as Villagers. Folk-rock band MONSTER CAT also debuted songs from their highly anticipated release while Inch Chua rounds up the bill.

The performance and interviews are broadcast for free online on the Snakeweed Sessions Youtube channel. Updates about the Sessions, behind-the-scenes footage, as well as full interview transcripts are also made available on the official blog.
