Opening tomorrow at ION Orchard is MOM -My Orangutan Mother. This photo show lets two young conservation photographers bring you into the jungles of Central Kalimantan, Borneo, on a “Photography with a Purpose” mission – To raise awareness for the plight of 600+ orangutan orphans at the BOSF Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rehabilitation and Reintroduction Centre. The young orangutan orphans there are watched round the clock by human care-takers and some of the orphans in the nursery often wake at night crying for their dead orangutan mothers as the images of the horrific ordeal are still fresh in their young minds.
About the Photographers
27-year-old conservation photographers C.S.Ling and L.C.Hong, founded Life List Chase to raise environmental awareness through conducting photography and travel expeditions, and inspire people to appreciate nature, experience the world, and start chasing their dreams and goals. C.S.Ling is a Nikon spokesperson and SanDisk Extreme Team member. Her photos are published worldwide, notably in magazines such as National Geographic Explorer, Asian Geographic and Outdoor Photographer. She is also a member of the International Environment Photographers Association (Japan) and has actively exhibited her works locally and overseas. L.C.Hong combined his passion for travel and photography into his life list and went on a 16-day solo photography trip to Myanmar and returned with photos that made it into the finals of “Earth in Motion” category in Asian Geographic’s photography competition 2010. His interest in endangered species has led him to begin his first initiative to document the orangutans.
