What we have here is not just a chair. It’s a chair with storage, and it was designed by Siwei Koay,� a recent Industrial Design graduate from the National University of Singapore. “I am always looking for a balance between form, function and aesthetics in my design,” Koay explains. “My inspiration comes from the daily life- for example, this chair design was inspired by seeing children in the kindergarten hanging their bags on the back of the chairs. However, sometimes when the bag is heavier than the weight of the child, it becomes dangerous as the they topple easily. That is why I decided to design a chair with a temporary storage for bag or a book.”
