5 Sec Faces: A Street Photography Project

It’s always nice to see two talented people teaming up. When illustrator Fleecircus came across Danny Santos’ work on Flickr, they became friends. They decided to work together and do something distinctively impromptu and street based. “100% “off-guard-ish” and natural portraits,” Flee explains. “We decided to call it the 5 Sec Faces project. We started roaming around town with an illustration board for a makeshift background, looking for strangers with distinct faces, then ask “Can I take your picture? It’ll just take 5 seconds…” If they agree, we quickly click away.”

“Our project is ongoing and happens every weekend while the people are in a ‘fun and rest’ mode,” Danny adds. “We hope to capture as many faces as we can to effectively create an overall picture of the beauty and variety of today’s Singapore.”

A photobook and an exhibition are in the pipeline. Watch this space.
