Lunar Node to launch Debut EP

As part of the launch of their debut EP, instrumental-rock outfit Lunar Node will be showcasing their repertoire of emotive instrumental music on Saturday, 7 February at The Arts House Playden. Titled “Exploring Unknown Territory”, their five-track EP release marks the end of the band’s year-long journey of discovery since its formation in 2008.

Gerald about the band: “Lunar Node is the result of a collaborative, spontaneous decision to break away from the norm. Early 2008, Daniaal left his previous band with a vision to create music that would connect people through eclectic and emotive sounds. He then got together with Asyraf and myself to see if we shared a common dream. With a weird stroke of luck, we discovered we had the same love for experimental shoegaze and post-rock music, even though we all have varied musical backgrounds ranging from indie and metal to alternative and pop.”

About ‘Exploring Unknown Territory’, Gerald says: “The EP marks a new beginning for us. At the heart of the sound for this EP release are our life experiences, beliefs and emotions, and we are passionately striving towards touching people with our music. Our set at The Arts House will be an intimate one shared with our favorite local band, Amateur Takes Control, who will be kick-starting the show at 8pm.”

The band has a few songs to sample on their myspace along with this track.
