In praise of clutter in the household, Chong Li-Chuan investigates into the conversations to be had with them, the stories they have for us, and perhaps answers to questions such as “Why are they here?” “Who invited them?” “Are they happy with everyone in the family?” Taking his cue from French philosopher Roger-Pol Droit’s How Are Things? – A Philosophical Experiment, Chuan conducts a series of interviews with 25 things found in his family’s living room. No Strings Attached is a multi-disciplinary performance that explores answers to the question “Who am I?” through the maternal figure as a point of identification or separation. The Half Flat Art Show brings together the personal and commercial arts of Koh Hong Teng, Sonny Liew, Skan Srisuwan and Tan Lun Cheak, four award-winning illustrators based in Singapore.
