THE ART
Celeste En is not restricted by mediums, but agrees that brushwork is her forte. “This piece though, is done with penciled lines and finished with digital coloring,” she says. “It’s about how we often underestimate the power of the spoken word, which can hurt others and ultimately, ourselves.”
THE ARTIST
“It’s pretty ironic that I’m in advertising considering I’ve scant liking for formula,” says Celeste En. “I draw and doodle because it makes me happy. It’s like a form of release. And it’s completely involuntary. Lines, colors and proportions of my creations are expressions of my feelings and thoughts. They show how I decode the world around and inside me. I believe nobody should do anything that they don’t love. It is a waste of precious human thinking and effort, which sadly is rather scarce these days. And like other art lovers and creators, it’s invariably the simple things and uncomplicated beings that inspire me. Always. And if you look for it you’ll find ample examples in the way life plays itself out.”
